Below is the origional communication

Good day friends!

We are incredibly excited to have the good fortune to send two of you to the GBTA Convention in San Diego, CA this August 11-15.  As if that isn’t enough, we are also able to send one of you to the GBTA Legislative Summit in Washington DC June 4-6.  This is such an amazing opportunity to get to go to one of these events where you might not have had the chance otherwise. Scholarship will cover conference registration, lodging, meals and transportation as in accordance with the approved expenses as outlined in our chapter by-laws.

Don’t delay! Application deadline for both opportunities is Monday, April 2nd. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the monthly luncheon on April 12th!

Attached you will find more information on the scholarship process and the application itself.  If you have any questions feel free to reach out to Brent Elliott, Committee Chair for Programs and Education at [email protected].

Good luck to all of you!

NBTAPAC is the bipartisan GBTA USA political action committee or PAC. As the only federally recognized PAC representing the business travel industry, it gives the industry another voice in the political process. Through NBTAPAC, GBTA members educate and financially support members of Congress who understand the value of business travel and support pro business travel interests. When government policies can make such a big difference in your lives – and the success of your employer and the business travel industry – participation in the political process is essential.

GBTA is challenging its chapters to engage their elected officials between August 1, 2012 and July 26, 2013.  Chapters that meet each task will be recognized as Challenge Partners at the GBTA Convention.  YOU can help our chapter with the following tasks.

* 30% of membership sends a communication to one of their elected officials through the Legislative Action Center (you will receive periodic emails requesting your action for this task)  We currently have 13 of the 19 required emails.

* Raise $1,000 in PAC contributions regardless of chapter size, must have 30% of members contribute  (click link below to donate)  We currently have $105.00 of the $1,000.00 required and 5 of the 19 required contributors.

We need your involvement and help.  If you prefer to write a check or donate cash, instead of using the convenient online secure link, please contact Karrie Middaugh liaison to the GBTA Government Relations Department at 801-240-7670 or [email protected].
